Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, born on August 11, 1980, in the verdant Aveyime-Battor region of Ghana, has emerged as a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and advocacy. Ablakwa's journey began with a solid foundation in education and a passion for community engagement.

As a proud alumnus of the revered Presbyterian Boys' Senior Secondary School - Legon, Ablakwa's formative years were characterized by academic excellence and active participation in extracurricular activities. His role as Vice President of the Scripture Union reflected his early leadership qualities and commitment to service.

Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Ablakwa pursued higher education at the University of Ghana, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy. His academic journey took him further to the University of Leicester, where he earned a Master of Arts in Communication Media and Public Relations. Additionally, he enriched his leadership skills with a certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School of Governance and a Master of Science in Defense and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

Ablakwa's foray into politics was marked by a steadfast dedication to the principles of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His tenure as President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) showcased his commitment to youth empowerment and advocacy. Ablakwa's active involvement in shaping his party's youth policies for the 2008 campaign highlighted his role as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader.

In 2008, Ablakwa embarked on his parliamentary journey, contesting for the North Tongu seat on the NDC ticket and securing resounding victories in subsequent elections. His unwavering support among constituents, coupled with his impressive track record, solidified his position as a Member of Parliament. Ablakwa's commitment to legislative excellence was further demonstrated through his roles on various parliamentary committees, including the appointments committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he currently serves as the Ranking Member.

Ablakwa's dedication to public service extended beyond the legislative arena, as evidenced by his tenure as Deputy Minister of Information and later as Deputy Minister for Education under the administrations of Presidents John Atta Mills and John Mahama, respectively.
