JOSEPH YOBOO

Joseph Michael Yobo Oon, born on September 6, 1980, is a Nigerian retired professional footballer renowned for his role as a center-back and later as an assistant coach for the Super Eagles. Throughout his illustrious career, he made significant contributions to both club and country.

Hailing from Kono, an Ogoni community in Rivers State, Nigeria, Yobo embarked on his football journey by joining Standard Liège in 1998. His talents quickly garnered attention, leading to a move to Marseille in 2001 before ultimately finding success with Everton.

Yobo's tenure at Everton was marked by consistency and leadership, culminating in numerous accolades and milestones. Notably, he became one of Everton's most reliable players, earning the distinction of being one of only seven players in the league to play every minute of every game during the 2006–07 season.

Following his time at Everton, Yobo embarked on a series of loan spells and transfers, including stints with Fenerbahçe and Norwich City. His contributions to Fenerbahçe were particularly noteworthy, helping the team secure the league title during his tenure.
