Ibrahim Sunday, born on July 22, 1944, is a retired Ghanaian professional footballer and coach, distinguished for his remarkable career both on the field and on the sidelines. Primarily known as a midfielder, Sunday made significant contributions to Ghanaian football, representing renowned clubs such as Asante Kotoko and achieving international acclaim.

Beginning his journey with local club Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Sunday quickly ascended to prominence, eventually becoming the team captain. In 1970, he played a pivotal role in leading his club to victory in the African Cup of Champions, a historic achievement for Asante Kotoko.

Sunday's talents caught the attention of the Bundesliga, and in 1975, he made history by becoming the first African footballer to appear in the league, donning the colors of Werder Bremen.
