ABDULSALAMI ABUBAKAR

Abdulsalami Abubakar GCFR, born on June 13, 1942, in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, emerged as a pivotal figure in Nigeria's history, serving as both a military leader and a statesman. Raised in Minna, he received his early education at Minna Native Authority Primary School before continuing his studies at Government College in Bida, Niger State, from 1957 to 1962. His educational journey also led him to Kaduna Technical College in 1963, where he furthered his training.

Abubakar's military career began with his enlistment in the Nigerian Air Force in 1963, marking the commencement of a distinguished service to his nation. Trained in West Germany and equipped with a wealth of experience, he transitioned to the Nigerian Army in 1966, where he swiftly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic prowess.
