Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, born on May 7, 1942, in Accra, spent his formative years in Adabraka, a bustling suburb of the Ghanaian capital. His journey is one of diverse experiences spanning continents and fields of endeavor.
In the sixties, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe embarked on a quest for knowledge, leaving Ghana for Shrekoslovakia to pursue a medical education at the esteemed Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. His academic journey also led him to Zion College in Keta, where he further honed his skills.
Equipped with a medical degree, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe practiced medicine in various settings, including Ghana, where he initially served as a member of the Ghana Armed Forces. His professional journey took him to Nigeria and the United States, where he applied his medical expertise.
In 1972, amid the political turbulence of General I.K. Acheampong's Supreme Military Council era, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe joined the military as a Medical Doctor. However, his involvement in a coup plot against the government led to his detainment, reflecting the complexities of the time.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe left an indelible mark on Ghanaian football. In the eighties, he served as Management Chair and Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Ghana's premier football club, later ascending to the presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
A staunch advocate for civil rights and political reform, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana's political landscape. He is a founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and served as Ghana's Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro in 2005 under President John Agyekum Kufuor's administration.
Returning to Ghana in 2009, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe emerged as a prominent media commentator, offering insights on politics and sports. His continued involvement in Accra Hearts of Oak is evident through his membership in the Council of Patrons and the Board of Directors of the club.
In addition to his contributions to public life, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe co-authored the book 'Never Say Die! The Autobiography of a Ghanaian Statesman', sharing his remarkable life journey with the world.
